For a while now, I’ve been thinking about what I want the next chapter of my working life to look like.

I want more freedom in how I work, more time with my family, and the chance to build something of my own. Online business is something I’ve explored before, but I’m now giving those ideas more attention—and creating a place to share the process.

That’s why I’ve started this website.

Starting alongside everyday life

I’m a husband, a dad of three, and I work full-time. Like plenty of people, I’m trying to make room for new possibilities alongside the responsibilities already in front of me.

I value the experience my career has given me. My background spans IT, sales and business development, and I’ve always enjoyed solving problems, understanding how things work and finding practical ways forward.

Now I want to see how I can apply those skills to building something online.

Family is a big part of the motivation. I’d like more flexibility around when and where I work, and more choice about how I spend my time. Financial stability matters too. I want to approach this in a way that gives me a chance to build something sustainable.

I’ve explored ideas before

Over time, I’ve tried affiliate and digital marketing, looked into different business ideas and explored tools that might help turn an idea into something useful.

Some of those attempts haven’t gone very far. But they’ve helped me understand what interests me and how much there is to learn.

More recently, I’ve been building ShareSpark, a tool designed to help businesses explore growth opportunities and plan experiments. It’s given me something concrete to work on, question and improve.

Working on a project brings up decisions that are easy to overlook when an idea is only in your head. Who is it for? What problem does it solve? What needs improving? What would make someone want to use it?

Those are questions I’m still working through.

Why share the journey?

I want this website to be a record of what I’m doing and learning.

That includes projects taking shape, ideas I’m testing, tools I’m exploring and decisions I’m making. It also includes the attempts that don’t work out, or the moments when I need to rethink something.

I’m comfortable saying that I don’t have all the answers. I’m starting from the experience I have, learning what I need to learn and seeing where consistent effort takes me.

Sharing the process gives me a reason to pause and reflect, rather than always rushing towards the next task. I also hope it creates opportunities to connect with people who are exploring similar paths.

What you can expect here

I’ll share project updates, reflections on online business, and practical lessons from things I’ve tried. I’d also like to create videos so I can talk through parts of the journey more personally.

The focus may develop over time. As I get more experience, I expect some ideas will become clearer and others will change.

For now, this is a place to begin: a home for what I’m building and a record of how it develops.

If you’re working towards something similar, balancing an idea with a job and family, or simply curious about the process, you’re welcome to follow along.

And if something here resonates, I’d be happy to hear from you at andrew@andrewjjackson.com.

Building, learning, sharing.
